Well, the wighnomy brothers … neither fish nor fowl, some may say or even claim?! right! being fixed means being fixed, and this seems to count for the productions of the wighnomy project as well. it doesn’t matter whether it’s beefcake, robag wruhme or machiste … the wighnomy´s says: ‘being fixed is like fastening your seatbelt when driving: you are safe but you cannot move!’
Therefore, the new wighnomy 12” differs very much from the recently released nightclubbing ”247:you”. ‘Bodyrock’ is a dirty piece of techhouse without a lovely rohodes melody. the melody is changed into a heavy digital surface that winds itself around the rough beats like a snake. the dirty ‘bodyrock’ rhythmically reflects the aim and object of the track, so it might happen that the fire fighters have to enter the dance floor.
‘1974’ is the organic version of the wighnomy brothers. the very catchy melody fights against the beats and defeats them at the end! A steady raise of tension makes the whole thing roll and roll, creeps into the ear and comes out again in the shape of a whistle – especially when the sun is shining.
‘Alright’ is a 4/4 nujazz percussion techhouse track. when you listen to it on the stereo you’ll automatically try to catch the snare and hihats and the bass drum with your head - which, of course, won’t work. so maybe you’ll find yourself wriggling on the dance floor without even wanting it. at the latest, when the dark sub bass comes in you’ll start wondering about the strange arrangement … instead robag wruhme joined the party with a mischievous smile in the face.
